As a summary of our functions we:
- manage the University’s investment property assets
- undertake the negotiations and subsequent management of leases, licences and other rights over University owned property
- monitor planning issues affecting the University
- coordinate Council Tax and Business Rate revaluations, appeals and assessments
- handle property purchases and disposals
- maintain the University’s property ownership records
- assist with queries from members of the public.
Residential and commercial lettings
We handle all property lease transactions on behalf of the University. Our responsibilities extend to commercial leasing and non-student residential lettings. We currently manage approximately 100 commercial and 150 residential lettings, occupying premises across all of the University’s estates. The diverse nature of the University's estate enables us to offer a wide selection of properties in terms of size, facilities and location and thus cater for most requirements.
