Estates and Facilities is embarking upon the most extensive capital development in the University of Reading's recent history. The £250m Whiteknights campus development plan describes the development programme, and the University has held a six-week exhibition in November to December 2007 which gave all stakeholders a chance to view, discuss and comment on the proposals.
The development programme will include the replacement of a number of halls of residence, the improvement of sports and recreational facilities, changes to parking and public access to the campus, whilst retaining the high quality environment of the campus in a sustainable way.
To deliver the programme, E&F will manage a large number of complex projects each focusing on an aspect of the development plan. To help coordinate the projects, E&F has appointed a programme management team whose responsibility has been to define the programme and oversee the delivery of the projects, ensuring that the dependencies, resources, risks and issues are effectively managed.
