Building the University

The Capital Projects team manages the refurbishment of existing buildings and the construction of new. Projects currently being managed range from approximately £1 million to £20 million. We achieve the projects' objectives, to agreed quality, time and cost by careful planning, monitoring and control of all aspects of the project.

We work closely with external consultants, advisers, statutory authorities, and specialist internal departments. Some external professional design consultants and contractors have contracted to a formal Partnering Framework Agreement.

The Small Works projects team consists of a multi-disciplinary group of project managers. We manage a wide range of construction and maintenance related projects ranging from just a few hundred pounds to approximately £1M. We deliver our services through both in house and external consultants and employing a mixed range of contractor services.

The The Strategic Project Development team coordinates the master planning strategy of development across all campuses, including residential, academic and commercial properties, carries out feasibility studies on key development opportunities, and integrates infrastructure development in line with the estates master plan strategy.
