Security
With an in house team of 40, security services patrol and provide emergency response for all University property. With four campus shifts and a dedicated halls team we work closely with the Police and other neighbourhood stakeholders to provide a constant presence around the clock.
As well as men on the ground we have invested heavily in technology with an extensive CCTV system, a 24 hour control room, emergency call points, alarm monitoring system and vehicle tracking devices.
All of our staff undergo regular training and are CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.
Where are we?
The Security Control Room is located in Whiteknights House. Parking for 20 minutes only is available at the front of Whiteknights House. Please look for the flag pole.
Control room
Our dedicated control room staff monitor CCTV systems and the status of intruder and fire alarms across the estate, and ensure a prompt and efficient response to all alarm situations. They also deal with enquiries, both in person and over the telephone, and liaise with the emergency services as required.
Patrol staff
Our dedicated patrol staff respond promptly to any emergency calls received from the control room. Their duties also include high visibility foot patrols of the main University campuses and vehicular patrols of other University sites, paying particular attention to current hotspots.
