Maintenance and Business Services
The department comprises three teams:
The Building Maintenance team is directly responsible for maintenance of the University's built-estate, which comprises more than 400 buildings, including academic, residential and administrative premises.
The department deals with over 30,000 repairs and inspections each year, ranging from minor leaks to major fire improvement projects. Maintenance staff and specialist contractors are available on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Grounds Maintenance team looks after the University's historic landscape. We directly employ 26 staff, including specialist teams of nursery, sports ground and arboricultural staff.
The Business Services team, which provides business systems, IT, financial and other specialist support to the Facilities Management Directorate.
